Association of Tobago Dive Operators (ATDO), ATDO Certified Dive Shops, Scuba Diving Operators and Diver Training Centers

Tobago has eleven land-based dive centres which are members of ATDO (Association of Tobago Dive Operators), and most of them are also PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) resorts. As PADI resorts all offer diving tuition and diving charters.

This local association designed to promote diving on Tobago and to ensure that members adhere to standards for the safety and comfort of visiting divers and customers are treated to the most spectacular vacation experience. These standards include:

  • Instructor on staff full time
  • Oxygen, first aid kits and radios on board dive boats
  • Safety sausages provided for all divers
  • All dives must be escorted by a Dive Guide
  • Surface Markers must be carried by Dive Guides

ATDO also offers drift diving courses as well as PADI courses for beginners. In addition to PADI courses and programs offered by all members of the ATDO, courses from other certifying agencies are available. Also assist you for Hyperbaric or Recompression Facility in case of emergency.

Association of Tobago Dive Operators (ATDO) Allied Members are also service providers and hotels who work closely with ATDO to promote Tobago as a destination providing safe, professional service for visitors to our island.

It is important to note that while ATDO has no authority over non-members, the association strongly urges all divers to adhere to standard international diving practices if they choose to dive independently of it’s membership. No matter how experienced you think you are, it is recommended you dive with members of ATDO who work hard to promote Tobago's underwater world with safety as a top priority.

        Accommodation: 38 rooms. 3 Bungalows with either 1 or 2 air conditioned bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, and a large porch. 4 self catering apartments with either 1 or 2 bedrooms - only 2 of the 4 apartments are air conditioned - downstairs only. 31 standard single/double rooms. Note, only a few of Standard rooms are air-conditioned, these are on the ground floor, and thus, air-conditioning is on a request only basis. All of rooms face the Ocean and have a private shower/wc, ceiling fans and a balcony or porch. This is one of the few hotels on the island that offers wheel-chair accessible rooms.

        HANDICAPPED: Offer rooms to physically challenged guests. These rooms have hand held showers, shower chairs, shower rails, and toilet rails. Physically challenged guests can go from one end of property to the next in wheelchairs if necessary, via walkways which are suited for this purpose.
