Accommodation In Trinidad

be guided by budget or purpose; the choices are many

Whether you’re here on a business mission, for an eco retreat, Carnival festivities, or simply for sun and sand, you’ll find the kind of accommodation that meets both your needs and budget.

The island’s two biggest hotels, located in the capital of Port of Spain, are part of major chains and offer the amenities you would expect from luxury hotels. Conference services, all-inclusive packages, gym facilities and the like are not limited to the big chain hotels, though. If you’re looking for these offerings on a smaller scale, a few other hotels do provide them.

Guest houses and host homes are reasonable alternatives if you’d prefer a more homey atmosphere than what hotels have to offer. While guest houses usually exist independently of private residences and have more than one or two rooms available for guests, host homes are owner-occupied houses where visitors are invited to share in the home and lifestyle of the family.

Many of these are located in and around Port of Spain. Guest house-type lodging is also the option you’re most likely to come across if you’re interested in going to the more remote areas of the island which you may want to visit for secluded bays and rainforest treks.

When making your lodging bookings, make sure you find out if the price quoted is inclusive of taxes. Depending on the establishment, this information, along with the method of payment acceptable, may vary. So it’s important to double-check in advance. Read on for an idea of some of the places you may want to check into.
